Zoom 7.00p.m.

Present:- President Peter Rhodes, Chairman Fred Swarbrick, Leagues Fixtures Sec John Powell, Treasurer Greg King, Sponsorship Secretary Ian Cosens, League Secretary Andy Thompson, League Secretary Craig Ross, Lancashire Rep. Tom Hughes.

Apologies :- Secretary Peter Harrison, Doctor Sara Shackleton, Press Secretary Mark Ashley, League Secretary and Zoom Paul Riordan, League Secretary Craig Hine

Matters Arising :- None

Finance :- Treasurer Mr. Greg King outlined our present situation and expressed we were solvent after the effect of no fees due to the pandemic. At the present time approaches were in place to Clubs with outstanding fees in fact at the present time there were 8 outstanding. The lee time for payment would be 3rd September, non payment at that time would incur a penalty.

RFU support would be forthcoming this season with £100 per League in October, and a further £500 per League at the close of the season depending on certain criteria as demanded. We were and would be able to meet the outlined criteria. Thanks were offered to Greg for the work carried out over the past umber of years.

Sponsorship :- Ian Cosens outlined the present position regards our Sponsorships indicating there were still 4 Leagues without cover. Efforts would be made to enable all our Leagues being Sponsored and as usual apart from the fact that the site is viewed some 8,000 times a month representatives would be offered an invite to our Presentation Dinner.

Fixtures and Queries :- John Powell outlined that the fixtures were in place but one or two queries had been received regards possible changes. He had informed the Clubs as received to exchange dates with agreement and hen forwarding to him for updates on the relative sites.

All were prepared for entering their results on GMS but John suggested that we might test this out certainly before the 6.00p.m. this Saturday, the first Saturday of the season.

Feedback from the Clubs was positive considering the considerable disruption over the past two years and hopefully we’ll have a “full” day.

RFU Support :- Discussed as above under finance

Queries regards GMS :- Again as above John P. suggested all should test this out to be in a position to enter the results as received this Saturday

Any other business :- A long discussion developed over the Cup Competitions. These to be held after the completion of the regular seasons’ completion on the 11th March. This in fact in line with the RFU Competitions.

John P. had already set up structures for discussion and certain changes were suggested. These suggestions would be looked at and put out to the Committee to be discussed by the 1st October and then finalised at a scheduled “live” committee Meeting on the 5th October (at the Leigh Club) ready for notifications to our Clubs.

Ian Cosens said we should be putting out a notice to our Clubs regards the Hosting of the Finals. ( Saturday the 6th of May ).This would be done immediately and maybe at the time of the discussions on the 5th October we could publish the venues of the two Finals. This apart from the structures as above would provide some certainty to our Clubs regards any Sponsorship of the games as drawn.

Our Premier League sides had been circulated regarding the Man Off rule which in fact only applies to our PREMIER League. This rule was suspended during the pandemic hence the question – should we continue with the suspension. A clear majority had been received and the suspension would be maintained once again this coming season. The Referees Societies would be notified.

The Meeting closed at 8.05p.m.

Fred Swarbrick.
