Committee Meeting on 28/09/21

Minutes of the AGM Committee of NORWIRUL

28th September 2021 @ 7:00pm – Held by Zoom

Present: - Committee Fred Swarbrick, John Powell, Greg King, Ian Cosens, Paul Riordan, Tommy Hughes, Andy Thompson, Craig Ross, Mark Ashley, Craig Hine and Peter Harrison
Apologies: Sara Shackleton

Leagues:
We are into the fourth week of the season. Concedes are up even though we are trying were possible to help clubs. Worst in 5W, 4W and 4N. Encourage teams to help each other out
242 games 37 concedes 14 postponed COVID and 11 other agreed postponements. New Brighton 3rds and LSH 3rds left before the season started. Teams struggling Fleetwood 3rds, Kirby Lonsdale 3rds and Orrell 3rds are struggling for numbers. Orrell 2nds are as well but hope they will survive
Postponements – JP needs to know who instigated the postponement.

MADREFS are struggling for refs.
They are 20 short this week, only 4 available from the Association

Finance:
GK reported no change. JP said that the RFU will give us £2556 based on the 12 leagues. GK had received a letter from the bank due to the lack of activity on the Benevolent Account – Agreed to transfer some money to show some activity.
Sponsorship: All divisions now sponsored. Invoices will go out this week - £7200. The Vale of Lune cup final will be sponsored by Dan Rainford. Still need another for the Sedgley Park finals – Robinsons? We need to decide which cups are at which venue. Agreed to wait until after a couple of rounds have been played. Potential media story

Cups:
No postponements unless they have a league game close to the cup date that can double up
Dinner: PO’R to check with Bowden that everything is still okay for the dinner

Meeting:
It was agreed that the next meeting would be a live one. Date, time and place to confirmed. We can always call a zoom meeting if needed

A.O.B:
The ADM leagues send their results to the Rugby Paper but that is only for 3 leagues. It was agreed that there would be too much work to correlate all the data for 12 leagues

Promote pictures of games especially in the higher leagues. Can these be forwarded to MA for the end of October with a precise of the month. Knutsford had been chosen as the success story – still in its early stages. League spokesman needed to press stories – Agreed FS in first instance

COVID – No switching of a fixture if a COVID postponement. Allow a lower team to play if a higher team has COV ID but require assurance that there would be no loading

Man off rule – Premiership is now suspended this season

Meeting finished @ 20:15
