Referee Societies...

The Colts League fervently believes in the benefits of games being officiated by a Society Referee with no ties or connections to the Team they are refereeing.

Club Referees or Coaches refereeing at their own Club not ideal - even if it does solve a problem... It's just about OK for friendlies - however for competitive Colts League matches it is not satisfactory and should not be acceptable to any of us.

Referees for Colts League games must be independant so there can be no accusations of being a Homer.

Experiencing Society Referees week-in week-out is of benefit to the development of Colts Players and prepares them for the Senior Game.

The Colts League is fortunate to have been well supported from the outset by our Local Referee Societies from the Manchester & District (M&DRURS), Liverpool & District (L&DRURS), and other neighbouring Societies, and all Colts League Matches must be officiated by a Society Referee as an official appointment.

With competitive league fixtures each weekend it is an important condition of entering the Colts League that all Teams must join their Local Referee Society.
