The RFU National Under 17's Competition features 4 knock-out competitions similar to the Colts League's own League Cup Competitions - namely the National U17 Cup, Plate, Bowl, and Shield.

Entry into the RFU National Under 17's Competition is "by nomination" and is not a given right of qualification. Nominations are in the remit of the Northern Divisional Organiser

"Top Tier Teams" from the Raging Bull NW Colts Leagues Jnr A, Jnr B, Jnr C, and Jnr D will go forward to represent their CB and the Colts League. Nominations will be dependant on performance throughout the season and a Team's standing at the conclusion thereof...

For Teams "nominated" from the Raging Bull NW Colts League the first three rounds feature opponents from the Northern Division and comprise the Northern Divisional 1/4 Finals, Northern Divisional Semi-Finals, and Northern Divisional Finals.

The Northern Divisional Champions in each Competition then go forward to play the Midlands Champions in the RFU National U17 Semi-Finals and then onward to the RFU National U17 Finals.

Colts League Nominations have been confirmed...

Teams who finish in the following positions in the Junior Colts League Tables following league matches on Sunday 20th Feb will be nominated to represent their CB and the Raging Bull Colts League in the Northern Divisional Stages of the RFU's National U17 Competition.

Cup – A1, A2, B1.        Plate – A3, A4, B2.

Bowl – B3, B4, C1.        Shield – A5, C2, C3, E1.

NOMINATIONS were confirmed on Mon 30th Jan 2012. Managers of Qualifying Teams should e-mail the Divisional Organiser, David Ewing (details below), with their contact details - Team, Mobile No, and e-mail address - as a matter of urgency.

Fixture dates for each round are as per the RFU Youth Structured season.
These are detailed on each Club's own "Rugby First" pages :~

Sun 06th March - Divisional 1/4 Finals (1st Round)

Sun 20th March - Divisional Semi-Finals

Sun 03rd April - Divisional Finals - (Home Team as Drawn)

Sun 17th April - National Semi-Finals  - (at Doncaster)

Sun 01st May - National Finals - (at Stourbridge)

The Divisional Organiser has stressed this Competition is for Club Based Colts Teams. He will not mediate between Clubs who are not prepared to honour the fixture dates published in the Structured Season. Fixtures cannot be moved because of Clashes with Schools Sevens Tournaments or a School's Daily Mail commitments, and Matches can only be re-arranged if BOTH clubs agree.

Managers may wish to note Regulation 10.2 of the above regulations regarding
RFU travel assistance for trips of more then 200 miles (round trip).
