The RFU National Under 17's Competition features 4 knock-out competitions similar to the Colts League's own League Cup Competitions - namely the National U17 Cup, Plate, Bowl, and Shield.

Entry into the RFU National Under 17's Competition is "by nomination" and is not a given right of qualification. Nominations are in the remit of the Northern Divisional Organiser
"Top Tier Teams" from the Raging Bull NW Colts Leagues Jnr A, Jnr B, Jnr C, and Jnr D will go forward to represent their CB and the Colts League. Nominations will be dependant on performance throughout the season and a Team's standing at the conclusion thereof...
For Teams "nominated" from the Raging Bull NW Colts League the first three rounds feature opponents from the Northern Division and comprise the Northern Divisional 1/4 Finals, Northern Divisional Semi-Finals, and Northern Divisional Finals.
The Northern Divisional Champions in each Competition then go forward to play the Midlands Champions in the RFU National U17 Semi-Finals and then onward to the RFU National U17 Finals.

NOMINATIONS 2013
Colts League Nomination Places for 2013 were confirmed 13/02/13... Teams who finish in the following positions in the Raging Bull NW Junior Colts League Tables following league matches on Sunday 17th Feb will be nominated to represent their CB and the Raging Bull NW Colts League in the Northern Divisional Stages of the RFU's National U17 Competition.
Cup – A1, A2, A3. Plate – A4, B1, B2.
Bowl – B3, C1, C2. Shield – C3, D1, D2.
NOMINATION Places were confirmed on Weds 13th Feb 2013. Managers of Qualifying Teams should e-mail the Divisional Organiser, David Ewing (details below), with their contact details - Team, Mobile No, and e-mail address - as a matter of urgency.

Fixture Dates (2013)
Fixture dates for each round are as per the RFU Youth Structured season.
Sun 24th February - Divisional 1/4 Finals (1st Round)
Sun 10th March - Divisional Semi-Finals
Sun 24th March - Divisional Finals - (Home Team as Drawn)
Sun 21st April - National Semi-Finals - (at Doncaster)
Sun 05th May - National Finals - (at Stourbridge)
The Divisional Organiser has stressed this Competition is for Club Based Colts Teams. He will not mediate between Clubs who are not prepared to honour the fixture dates published in the Structured Season. Fixtures cannot be moved because of Clashes with Schools Sevens Tournaments or a School's Daily Mail commitments, and Matches can only be re-arranged if BOTH clubs agree.
Player Qualification & RFU Registrations
All Teams are reminded that players must have been registered on the RFU's Rugby First Database by the 31st December 2012. The National Organiser will be checking registrations on all Match Cards and those who field late registered or unregistered players will be disqualified.
Further "Player Qualification" criteria are detailed in the National U17's Competition Regulations.
Managers may wish to note Regulation 10.2 of the above regulations regarding
RFU travel assistance for trips of more then 200 miles (round trip).
