The Colts League expects an exemplary "Code of Conduct" from all Teams, Managers, Coaches, Players and Spectators before, during, and following matches.
Code of Conduct guidelines are published by the League as appendix 2 of the League’s Constitution and can be found "Here". Managers should ensure all their Players, Coaches, and Spectators are aware of and adhere to this code.
What Happens to Players who are "Red Carded" and "Sent Off", and to other "Offenders" ?
Transgressors and Miscreants who receive a “red card” during any Colts League game, or who "bring the game into disrepute" in any other way will be dealt with severely by their County (CB) Disciplinary Panel.
For Players this may well mean a Ban or Suspension from playing.
CB Disciplinary Panels, under delegated powers from the RFU, are empowered to hold inquiries and impose sanctions, or to take such action as seems fit for infringement of any “Law of the Game” or for any conduct which is prejudicial to the interests of the RFU, or of the game, as authorised by RFU Rule 5.12
If a Player is sent off or cited in an Under 17’s (Junior Colts) Match that Player’s Club Secretary shall, via the Club Disciplinary Panel, be responsible for taking disciplinary action against the Player under guidance from the CB Youth Disciplinary Secretary.
Where a player is 17 or over and is sent off or cited in an U19’s (Senior Colts) Match he shall be subject to the RFU Disciplinary Rules applicable to all Adult Players, and his case will be dealt with by the CB Disciplinary Panel.
The Club or CB Disciplinary Panel will Suspend or Sanction the Player with an appropriate punishment in line with RFU Sanction Guidelines.
Players Must Not be Selected to Play in ANY Match - for School or Club..
Any Sanction / Suspension imposed will be binding on both Schools and Clubs and shall apply to all Rugby Matches. If a School Pupil is subject to sanctions which results from misconduct in a Club Youth Match then Head Teachers will be informed and will enforce those sanctions, and vice versa.
A guide to Under 17 Sanctions is available "Here"
A guide to Under 19 Sanctions (including Under 18's playing with Under 19's), which align with Senior Sanctions, is available "Here"
Full “Youth Disciplinary Guidelines” can be found on the RFU "Regulations" WebSite by clicking "Here"
Colts Team Managers & Coaches should note :-
Failure by a Club Secretary to report a sending off to their own CB Disciplinary Secretary may lead to action and a fine being imposed against the offending Club. Therefore, ALL sending off offences should be reported to your Club Secretary.
Sanctions issued against Youth Players will count towards a Club’s “totting up” of offences noted by the CB Disciplinary Panel, and may result in a Club being called before the CB Disciplinary Panel.
